The owner of the Ladgac drug rehabilitation centre in Polokwane, Limpopo, known as Mr Moloto, appeared in court on Monday 14 July 2026. The Mr Moloto Ladgac court appearance followed his arrest for allegedly setting alight the signboard and a Toyota Hilux belonging to a rival rehabilitation centre called Ladgac Lebo. Furthermore, the fire allegedly spread to a house where seven people were sleeping. As a result, Limpopo police made an arrest and the matter is now before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court.

Mr Moloto Ladgac: What Allegedly Happened

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed the details of the alleged incident. According to investigators, at approximately 4.30am an unknown suspect set alight a signboard belonging to the Ladgac Lebo rehabilitation centre in the Ladanna area near Dendron Road. The suspect then allegedly proceeded to Seshego Zone 3 where a Toyota Hilux Extended Cab was set on fire. Furthermore, the fire spread from the vehicle to a portion of a nearby house where seven people were sleeping at the time. As a result, police launched an investigation that led to Moloto’s arrest at his home in the Welgelegen suburb of Polokwane.

Rival Rehab Centre Demands No Bail

The court appearance drew a crowd of supporters from Ladgac Lebo, the rival rehabilitation centre whose property was allegedly destroyed in the attack. Manager of Ladgac Lebo, Daniel Lekganyane, was outspoken about the case outside court. “We need justice for Lebo and we must protect Lebo. We must protect our community. No bail for Mr Moloto,” Lekganyane said. Furthermore, he confirmed that some of those who accompanied him to court were patients of Ladgac Lebo who were visibly angry about the incident. As a result, tensions ran high outside the court as supporters of both sides gathered.

On the other side, a separate group gathered in support of Mr Moloto. The two groups reflect a deeper rivalry between the two rehabilitation centres that appears to have escalated from a business dispute into alleged criminal conduct. Furthermore, the alleged attack on a property where seven people were sleeping has elevated the seriousness of the matter significantly. As a result, the case has attracted considerable public attention in Polokwane and surrounding communities.

Who Is Mr Moloto and What Is Ladgac

Ladgac is a drug rehabilitation centre based in Polokwane, Limpopo. Mr Moloto is its owner and has built a public profile as a community figure involved in substance abuse rehabilitation in the province. Ladgac Lebo appears to be a breakaway or rival centre operated by Lebo Rachidi. The rivalry between the two centres appears to have been building for some time before the alleged arson attack. Furthermore, the manager of Ladgac Lebo said the attack was a direct assault on the community the centre serves. As a result, what began as a business rivalry has now entered the criminal justice system.
