South African police issued a photo and warrant of arrest for Hlengiwe Goodness Buthelezi on Wednesday 19 August 2026. The Hlengiwe Buthelezi DJ Warras warrant connects her to the murder of DJ and broadcaster Warrick Stock on 16 December 2025 in the Johannesburg CBD. Furthermore, Buthelezi faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder. As a result, she becomes the third suspect in the DJ Warras murder case.

SAPS spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko confirmed the warrant and called on the public to help locate Buthelezi. “Detectives attached to the provincial investigation unit for serious and violent crimes are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect wanted for alleged conspiracy to commit murder and murder,” Sibeko said. Police released her photograph alongside a J50 warrant of arrest. Furthermore, investigators believe Buthelezi played a direct role in the events leading to Stock’s death. As a result, police are appealing urgently for any information about her whereabouts.

Buthelezi is the girlfriend of alleged mastermind Victor Majola, 44. Majola faces charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Investigators allege Buthelezi and Majola illegally collected rent from tenants at Zambezi House, a hijacked building in the Johannesburg CBD. Stock’s security company had a contract to provide services at that building. Stock convened a meeting with tenants and announced plans to take over building management. That announcement angered those allegedly collecting money illegally. Furthermore, cellphone data from the investigation showed Buthelezi allegedly sent Majola details of Stock’s vehicle registration documents, his residential address and the address of his partner. As a result, investigators believe she played a central role in planning the attack.

Stock applied for a protection order against six individuals in the weeks before his death. Buthelezi appears first on that list. The applications described repeated harassment of security personnel, threats of violence and incidents in November 2025 where respondents allegedly returned with unknown males making threats. On 16 December 2025, CCTV footage allegedly captured Majola outside Zambezi House giving hand signals pointing out Stock to the gunman. Gunman Joaquim Armando Pacula then shot Stock dead at close range. Pacula pleaded guilty and the court sentenced him to 25 years on 7 August 2026. Furthermore, Pacula received 25 years for murder, eight years for an unlicensed firearm and additional time for immigration offences. As a result, the gunman is behind bars while the alleged mastermind and a third suspect remain before the courts.

Wednesday also brought a setback in the Majola trial. The Johannesburg High Court granted Majola a four-week postponement after his defence asked for time to obtain financial instructions. The NPA opposed the application and told the court it was ready to proceed. “The court granted the accused a four-week postponement, marked as final, to allow his counsel sufficient time to be placed in funds,” NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said. Furthermore, at Majola’s earlier bail hearing the investigating officer told the court that Stock’s personal details appeared on Majola’s cellphone. As a result, Majola’s trial moves to 18 September 2026.
