DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, performing together as the Scorpion Kings, sold out the 94,736-capacity FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on 19 September 2026. The show marks a defining moment for Amapiano and South African music. Over 500,000 fans queued for tickets when sales launched, and the venue sold out within days.
Furthermore, the duo dropped an extra 5,000 tickets after the first batch sold out, and those too sold out fast. Kabza De Small took to social media to share his reaction, writing: “DANKIE BAFETHU! We appreciate the love. We made history. We are officially sold out.” DJ Maphorisa echoed him, saying: “Thank you so much for your support. We made history together.”
The Scorpion Kings FNB Stadium show builds on their 2025 sellout at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. That venue holds 51,762 people. As a result, moving to FNB Stadium and filling every seat marks a significant step up. It places them among the biggest live acts in South African concert history.
Scorpion Kings FNB Stadium Show Cements Amapiano on the World Stage
Few acts have ever filled FNB Stadium. That two producers achieved it speaks to how far Amapiano has travelled since it emerged from the townships of Gauteng. Moreover, the Scorpion Kings brand has grown into one of the most recognisable in African music, with sold-out shows, chart-topping albums, and global collaborations.
Kabza De Small, known as the King of Amapiano, and DJ Maphorisa have led the genre’s rise both locally and internationally. Their music now reaches listeners across the world. In addition, Amapiano continues to gain ground on international streaming platforms, and the FNB Stadium sellout adds another chapter to that story.
Consequently, 19 September 2026 stands as the night South African music arrived on the biggest stage the country has to offer. The Scorpion Kings made history, and the numbers confirm it.
