Businessman Solomon Madibela, known as MySol, has made it clear that the MySol MacG legal battle is far from over. He delivered the message face to face, during his own appearance on Podcast and Chill, which premiered on Thursday afternoon.
MySol sat down with host Macgyver MacG Mukwevho just a week after he obtained a court order against him. Even so, he did not soften his stance. Instead, he told MacG directly that he is still taking him to court. He did not give details about the case.
MySol also revealed that he had told co host Sol Phenduka he needed to meet with his lawyers before agreeing to come on the show.
Why the MySol MacG legal battle continues
The dispute began with an episode that aired on 8 October. In that interview, businessman Benjamin Maponya spoke about his fallout with MySol, his former business partner. MySol then obtained an interim interdict from the High Court in Johannesburg. The order bars MacG and Maponya from spreading the statements that MySol considers defamatory.
During Thursday’s episode, MySol said the court order requires the content to come down from all platforms. He warned that continuing to share it could carry criminal consequences. MySol told MacG that he might go to jail, adding that he was being serious. He also said MacG’s lawyers must sit with him and read the order.
Furthermore, MySol accused MacG’s team of reposting the content on Instagram after the court granted the order. However, MacG denied this. He said he does not have an Instagram account and only uses TikTok.
MySol described himself as very strategic and said he has big guns on his side. He told MacG that he is pursuing claims linked to defamation and extortion. He also claimed that the same person had caused similar trouble elsewhere before and later apologised. None of these claims has been tested in court.
MacG, for his part, defended the show. He asked what law Podcast and Chill had broken by giving someone an opportunity to tell their story. According to MacG, the podcast is simply a platform. At the same time, he praised MySol’s hustle and the jobs that his businesses create.
The court battle is set to continue. On 22 October, MacG and Maponya must return to court to explain why the interim order should not become final. Until then, the order remains in place.
Meanwhile, commentary across social media platforms has buzzed about the tense episode. Some users praised MacG for giving MySol a chance to respond. Others said the interview showed just how serious the legal fight has become.
